It gives me immense pleasure to welcome you to Degree College, Shikaripara, established in 2024 as a Constituent College of Sido Kanhu Murmu University, Dumka. Located in the Shikaripara block of Dumka district, the college seeks to provide quality higher education in Science, Social Science, Humanities, and Commerce to students of this largely rural and subaltern region. Our institution stands as a beacon of hope, dedicated to bridging educational gaps and fostering social transformation in harmony with the nation’s progress towards a knowledge-based economy.

Our guiding motto, “Atma Deepo Bhavah” (Be Your Own Light), inspires every student to cultivate self-reliance, wisdom, and responsibility.

The college logo reflects this spirit—an open book for knowledge, a lamp for enlightenment, the mandar drum and palash flower for cultural heritage, and the tricolor circles for national unity. These elements remind us that education must remain deeply rooted in our traditions while embracing universal human values.
